My Cage
Nothing to do, nowhere to roam
Lost and lonely, far from home
Echoes whisper through the trees
Calling out, but no one sees
Searching for light, stuck in the night
Compass spinning, stars out of sight
Darkness surrounds, my chest feeling tight
Heart pounding loudly, I’ve lost my sight
I’m trapped in his cage, watching time turn to age
Hope slipping through like words on a page
No rope can hold me, but I can’t escape
I’m tied to the shadows, bound by fate
Footsteps fade in the empty air
Reaching out, but no one’s there
I dream of a place where I can be free
But the bars of my mind are haunting me
If I scream, will the night let go?
If I run, will I find the road?
This lonely heart still dares to dream
To break the bars and finally be free
One day I’ll rise, I’ll break away
Until that night turns into day
Will I be able to escape his cage...
